Chapter Twenty: “The Unexpected”

The end is in sight. I cannot honestly tell you how excited I am about that. I mean, I’ve loved doing Tijervyn. It has proven to me that I can consistently meet a deadline on writing, and produce something passingly creative and entertaining. That is huge to a writer. But, yeah, I look forward to taking a break. People who consistently put up material day in day out for years are on a whole other level. Granted, they usually don’t have a day job (or, that is to say, the creation of the content is their day job), so I guess it isn’t a fair comparison. If April and I only had Tijervyn to do, I think we’d probably be able to do quite a bit more (heck, maybe a chapter every couple of days). But, alas, Tijervyn doesn’t pay the bills.

I  really need to start getting into the habit of carrying a small voice recorder around, because I keep thinking of great blog topics to put up here, but Thursday night, when I’m all exhausted from writing/recording/ebook-ification-ing, I can’t remember them for the life of me.

In other news, I am starting to look for a house to buy. Exciting times, and an adventure of its own, if nothing quite as grand as what I like to write. I am just starting the house-hunting ordeal, so this will most definitely not interrupt Volume One at all, but it might post-pone Volume Two a month or so (unless I’m a timing ninja). I’ll do what I can to still get something up on Friday’s for your steampunk consumption pleasure.

That’s about it. I think I’ll try and actually write the blog post for next week before I exhaust myself doing all of the administrative-type stuff that comes after actually writing. We’ll see.

Do you have a smart phone? A lot of them have voice recorder apps. I know my iPhone does, I keep trying to remind myself to use it for just such a purpose actually. If it doesn’t automatically have one, there is probably a free app you can download. Just a thought, anyway.

Good luck with the house hunting! That definitely does fall under the heading of adventure these days.

Have really really been enjoying Tijervyn, thank you so much for sharing it with us! Keep up the good work.

Jees, been so busy I forgot that I didn’t actually respond to this! Yes, I do have a smart phone (A Samsung Fascinate, which is a droid), and yes it does have a voice recorder. I just keep forgetting that phone is like a swiss army knife for what it can do. That and I do happen to own an actual voice recorder (which I wanted to destroy in a fit of divine rage a couple years ago when it erased several interviews I’d done at JordanCon 2). So yeah, I keeping thinking I should use that.

But I did use my droid, and it has actually allowed me to remember what I want to talk about for tomorrow’s news post (it is still tomorrow’s right, yes? good.)

Glad you are enjoying Tijervyn. Tomorrow’s update is sure to be a good one (I think, at least, but I’m biased.) So close to done with Vol 1!
