Thanksgiving 2010
Posted on 25 November 2010
So, I have been quiet here for a while from a mixture of other projects and malaise, so it is time to fix that. So allow me to give a small list of what I am thankful for, and I shall riff the first two off of Carl Sagan.
I am thankful to live in this age, when we are truly starting to visit other planets.
I am thankful to live in this age, where science and the ability to always skeptically question what we know is surpassing old superstitions and prejudices.
I am thankful to live in an age where I can find friends from around the world who share my interests, and that we can quickly and meaningfully interact on a day to day basis, despite thousands of miles between us.
I am thankful to have, through a series of events I will neither call good nor bad, come to live in a place I feel I can call home, with people that I have no hesitation to call friends, a the opportunities to live my dreams.
And most importantly:
I am thankful to have, by that same series of events, two absolutely wonderful little boys.
And as a coda: I am thankful that someone found a way to actually make something awesome with auto-tune, and that is the Symphony of Science. My personal favorite of them: “A Glorious Dawn”
No comment yet. Why not be the first?
